DFader is a really simple-to-install and easy-to-use application that lets you have a physical control over virtual parameters of your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), Plug-Ins and Virtual Instruments.

Install DFader on your workstation and connect a compatible physical external controller. Then, simply, move your mouse cursor over the target virtual control and act on it with a real fader!
A physical fader is still the most used, comfortable and precise controller in the audio equipment. With DFader you can use it to tweak any audio parameter in your virtual studio.
With DFader and a physical MIDI External Controller all the DAW parameters will be at your fingertips!
DFader is not designed for a specific DAW; it can be used with any DAW on the market. The vast majority of the DAW parameters can be controlled with it.
Even if this application is born with DAWs in mind, you could use it in any of your preferred applications (for example: video editing, image/photo editing, CAD, ...).
DFader is an incredibly powerful but affordable solution to enhance your MIDI External Controller capabilities.
DFader connects to your MIDI External Controller, and translates movements from your External Controller Fader into mouse movements, clicks and mouse wheel movements.
Additionally, DFader can even translate the External Controller Fader movements into MIDIcc messages, which are often used to control DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) or Virtual Instruments parameters or settings.
DFader works in three main modes: Pass-through mode, Control mode and MIDIcc mode.
In Pass-through mode, your External Controller Fader works in its native mode; no special action is done by DFader.
In Control Mode, the Strip of your External Controller becomes special.
The Fader will move to the center travel position; and, as soon as you touch it, your mouse cursor will be automatically pressed down by DFader.
As you move your Fader up and down, your mouse cursor will follow.
As soon as you will release the touch from the Fader, the mouse cursor will be released; it will also optionally be restored to its initial position (where it was when you touched the Fader).
The rotary knob of the Strip of your External Controller will control your mouse wheel.
In MIDIcc Mode, the Fader of your External Controller becomes special: instead of sending out the usual Volume Change messages to the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), it will send out MIDIcc messages through the DFader MIDIcc Output port.
You can configure DFader MIDI inputs and outputs in order to place it in the middle of the MIDI communication channels from your preferred DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software and your External Controller. In this case, when DFader is in Pass-through mode, all MIDI data is passed almost directly from the External Controller to the DAW, while all MIDI data is passed from the DAW to the External Controller.
DFader provides a new way to control your preferred software or Plug-ins, where you can have direct control of them, using your preferred hardware device!
DFader parameters include the Operation mode (Pass-through, Control mode or MIDIcc mode), the Fader Sensitivity, mouse cursor direction, the restore of the mouse cursor position (at the touch-down position), the output MIDIcc Channel and the output MIDIcc Number.
These parameters are associated to an External Controller Strip, and they can be saved into Presets with a given name, so that you can quickly change from different configurations.
DFader settings include the optional setup of some buttons on your External Controller, which can be used to quickly recall any Preset, and to show/hide the DFader application window.

Supported Physical External Controllers:
DFader supports any HUI-compatible or Mackie Control-compatible physical external controller.
You can connect single fader controllers (like PreSonus FADERPORT) or multi-faders controllers (8 faders or more).
DFader does not support non-MIDI based external controllers (contact us for more information).
Currently, DFader has been successfully tested with the following External Controllers:
- PreSonus FADERPORT (HUI and Mackie Control modes)
- Frontier Design AlphaTrack (when used in HUI compatibility mode)
- Mackie Control
- Logic Control (when used in Mackie Control mode)
- iCON Platform-M (HUI and Mackie Control modes)
- Generic HUI Controllers, with 8, 16, 24, 32 Faders
- Generic Mackie Control Controllers, with 8, 16, 24, 32 Faders (Master Faders are supported, too)
- Generic HUI Controller (8 faders) without fader touch sense
- Generic Mackie Control (8 faders) without fader touch sense
Supported iLok Versions:
DFader REQUIRES AN iLok DONGLE to work (any generation).
The license for DFader operation can be stored on iLok (any generation), but not on the computer.
You can enjoy a Time-Limited Trial version of DFader.
(Trial Version Limitations: you can activate Control Mode and MIDIcc Mode only in the first 15 minutes of application operating time)
